About Us

OUR CLINIC

At Southwest Pain Relief & Laser Therapy Clinics, we believe in a smarter approach to  pain relief - one that’s non-invasive, effective, and drug-free. Founded by Registered  Massage Therapist Colleen Anderson and Dr. Jody Anderson, our clinics are built on a  shared passion for helping people find relief without the need for outside medical  referrals.

With over 20 years of experience in laser therapy and alternative pain management,  we’ve witnessed firsthand how innovative treatments can transform lives. Our clinics are  strategically located throughout Southwestern Ontario to meet the demand for safe,  proven pain relief solutions especially for those seeking alternatives to current  treatments, including opioids and other medications with unwanted side effects.

Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, injury recovery, or mobility issues, our team is  here to help you get back to doing what you love comfortably and confidently.

Our Story

For Colleen Anderson, the potential of Laser Therapy became evident when she witnessed its impact on her grandmother’s arthritis and recovery from a pelvis fracture.  After training at The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, she committed to  exploring non-invasive pain management solutions that deliver practical and accessible  results.

Dr. Jody Anderson, an Alternative Pain Management and Performance Medicine  Specialist, took that commitment a step further. Following graduation, he completed an  intensive four-year Clinical Fellowship in Toronto, Canada at Meditech, under Fred Kahn, MD - a globally recognized  pioneer in laser therapy and developer of the Bioflex Therapeutic Medical Laser  Systems used in our clinics today.

Being exposed and trained at the forefront of laser therapy’s emergence as a medical treatment gave our Team a unique foundation in the field. It led to consulting and research work on  international teams exploring laser therapy’s applications across medicine,  rehabilitation, and elite sports performance. The early involvement helped pave the way  for the adoption of Bioflex laser therapy in professional sports leagues, where it became  a game-changer for treating injuries and ensuring safe, effective return to play.

For the past 20 years, Dr. Anderson has worked with professional, Olympic, and  Paralympic athletes, while applying cutting-edge research in human performance, brain  function, and movement science. Our philosophy extends far beyond athletes,  where we focus on helping all patients achieve their own version of high performance in  life, whether that means recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or optimizing  brain health.

At Southwest Pain Relief & Laser Therapy Clinics, we apply breakthrough research in:

• Neurodegeneration & concussion management

• Movement efficiency

• The neurological basis of pain & recovery

Laser therapy is at the forefront of non-invasive treatments for brain and spinal cord  injuries, concussions (sports and non-sports related), and neurodegenerative diseases -  a field of deep professional and personal interest for Dr. Anderson, who has spent over  a decade conducting independent research in this area.

The majority of our patients come to us seeking relief from:

• Arthritis & joint pain

• Mechanical back pain

• Nerve pain & headaches

• Injury-related pain

Regardless of their background, our patients share one goal: finding a safe, effective,  and drug-free way to manage their pain and getting back to doing what they love.

Our commitment to innovation and evidence-based care has led to collaborations with  leading research institutions, including: Boston University’s CTE Brain Lab, Harvard University’s Photobiomodulation Laboratories  and University of Western Ontario’s Brain Institute.

Every day, we are privileged to help people restore function, reduce pain, and reclaim  their quality of life without the need for surgery or medication.
